We get asked all the time, where to go near the Calle Loiza for food, drink and a bunch of other stuff you might want or need. Here’s a selection of spots that we patron and think you will like also when you’re in the hood. And a few favorites out of the area.
The <location> links to their Google Maps page for hours, pricing, more photos and info.

THE EATS
PR CUISINE RESTAURANT
Delicous and local favorite. This small family restaurant has a selection of favorites and new dishes regular. One fo the best.
PIZZA & WHISKEY BAR
Our favorite pizza on the street with a variety of thin crusts and toppings at this small but low key banging spot.
SEAFOOD & MORE RESTAURANT & BAR
Always good with a BIG menu for surf and turf items. Great drinks and service.
SALADS, SMOOTHIES & MORE
By long time Calle Loiza favorite Shibo, FS s a great spot for delicous stuff. Watch for specials and other things like Sushi Night!
PIZZA & MORE RESTAURANT
This pizza powerhouse has a range of pizza choices as well as other options. Good with a group.
DOMINICAN/PR RESTAURANT
The peoples spot. Casual. Plenty of choices and cooked fresh daily.
TACOS & MORE
<LOCATION>
Pioneer on the East Loiza. Known for their mexican stye tacos and burrito.
GYRO’s and much more
<LOCATION>
Very good gyro’s that arent easy to come by in PR. They have pasta too with SOLO PASTA but we havent tried yet.
THE CHILL AND THE PARTY
GREAT BEERS & BITES
One of our favorite, true locals. BIG selection of local beers and delicous things to eat. Great service.
BAR PLUS
Classic PR street hangout with surprisingly large selection of beer. Definitely 420 friendly.
LOCAL BAR & BITES
Very local bar with pool table, juke box and occasional live music. Outdoor area has good late night burgers and pinchos.
RETAIL & SERVICES & OTHER
SURF SHOP PLUS
Since ‘93 Tres Palmas has been serving the surf and beach community with professional gear and lots to wear. Great skateboard selection too.
SUPERMARKET
Solid supermarket with a good little cafeteria in the back. This serves best the east end of the street.
Gallery
Urban contemporary gallery by appointment only and open during expos. Check instagram @elegel2.0 for announcements.
ART MERCH
A tight collection of art and calle loiza, urban inspired merch available online…for now.
SUPERMARKET
By far the best choice for selection and opening hours. Servicing the east end of the street.
Market Delivery Service
They have an excellent variety of fresh and prepared foods, fruits and vegetables for same or next day delivery.
MARIJUANA
<LOCATION>
Weed is legal in PR as medical marijuana. We heard about a tourist license and we’re looking into it for our friends from abroad with aches and pains.
BEST PIZZA in the area (a short UBER away)
Napolitano Pizza
From food truck to trendy hip spot. You probably need a reservation or wait. It’s worth it.
Napolitano Pizza
By long time pizza maker, Naples born chef, Luigi, this is a casual spot in La Marqueta food court. Always delicous.
NY style pizza restaurant
<LOCATION>
Our lone NY style pizza entry for the moment, Puttanesca has been our hands down favorite for over a decade. Authentic NY slice, beers in a casual restaurant…no need to be fancy.
Our guests are welcome to go pretty much anywhere in the area when they’re respectful of the people and culture. Have fun and avoid problems.
HOPE YOU FOUND THIS USEFUL.
