JEAN OYOLA. Born in Bayamon, PR. Lives and works in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
His work is balanced between street art & studio work. Formed part of the 2015 National Showcase organized by the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture (ICP) and has exhibited his work in numerous group shows in Puerto Rico, and internationally including NYC & Venice. He is a two time Santurce es Ley featured artist.
Through his art, Jean reflects the notion that if we are part of the creation and we are here, then we are part of a puzzle in which every individual serves a purpose and it results being an essential piece of our environment’s composition and the future itself.
His influences go from Alexander Calder, Paul Klee; and from street artists like Retna and Keith Haring. He recently was selected for a painting residency with Con-Artist Collective in the Lower East Side, Manhattan, NY.
We're excited to work with him on his Filigrana Series beginning with his mural in the ARTBNB.
